Use 7014 rod for the best results and keep the current down. Can't say enough good things about this product. It will be a lot cheaper and the box is light enough to carry around while I use it. Really like it, it's my first welder but its awesome. This thing is totally AWESOME!

It has a plastic cover to protect the display from splatter and dirt. Everything says the magnetic strength is 150lbs, I think we can all agree on that. I needed to ensure that the humidity would not affect my work. I'm running on a 15 amp circuit with 50 ft extension cord and have had no problems. I had to weld a 2" pipe to a steel plate and this help keep the pipe in place.
