I also cut some 1/4in birch plywood and it worked great. I expected a Powermatic made tool for the premium price I paid. Ok, now for a slightly more in depth review. The major problem I had was assembling the saw on the stand. Easy assembly and little to no adjustments necessary.

Does Everything with ease and consistent accuracy. I expected a Jet made tool for the premium price I paid. My fence broke after less than 6 months. I love having 52 inches of capacity. Miter Gauge - The miter gauge is an absolute joke.

Accurate right out of the box with a great fit and finish. But overall I'm really pleased with this saw. For the money this is an outstanding value. So I always measure out and chalk anyway. Oak, maple, even had to cut some soaking wet Ponderosa pine.

It was really nice as well and hard to say which is better. It's durable plastic, but still plastic. Miter gauge has definitely been updated. I love having 52 inches of capacity. It pretty much laughed at anything I threw at it.
