It's a nice machine and I wish I could have kept it. The rotating plate is basically useless to me. After returning the first one I received I got a decent sander. The fit and weight of this machine are excellent. There is one on each side and they do a lot to reduce noise.

The fact is that the POWERTEC OS1000 was the POWERTEC Sanders that we rated at the top. Nevertheless, there were a handful of other really high quality POWERTEC Sanders worth showcasing here that just barely missed the mark.

This flimsy locking mechanism should be improved. One interesting observation is the disc spins clockwise. Worked fine if one used a hand to set the lock. I am very pleased with the performance of this sander. Belts are easy to come by, plenty of power.
