I got the planer and put it to work right away. I use it outside as there is a huge outflow of chips. I used it to clean up salvaged/reclaimed wood. The left/right chip ejector is much better than PORTER-CABLE's. It is sturdy and the blade are double sided and sharp.

The WEN 6530 was our number one Power Planers. With that said, there are a number of other superb options when it comes to Power Planers. We have a breakdown of them here.

PORTER-CABLE is another major maker of Planers. They produce the tool next on our lineup. PORTER-CABLE's Electric Hand Planers are great as well. I was ready to try out the model PC60THP and I was not let down!

The model PC60THP Electric Hand Planer by PORTER-CABLE, at $67.99 is a particularly exceptional Planer for the price. The PORTER-CABLE PC60THP is definitely a solid alternative. Of you are uncertain about our top pick, I would go with this Planer.

In addition to the option we already included, I would have a look at the DEWALT DCP580B and the PL1632 by Bosch. Both DEWALT and Bosch are regarded as a couple of the premier suppliers of premium Planers. Both of these two options are highly rated as well. Genuine customers gave the DEWALT an average rating of 4.3/5 stars. You can compare that to the PL1632 that boasts an average rating of 4.4/5 stars.

The DCP580B by DEWALT offers some very choice features like Brushless motor which provides power and runtime of 32,000 cuts per minute. The Bosch PL1632 by comparison, is hard to beat with Powerful planer with 6.5 Amp rating and 16,500 RPM speed for fast stock removal and smooth finish in soft and hard woods and even Spring-loaded stand elevates tool to protect blade and tool resting spot; special shape allows easy entry in middle of workpiece.

I would be eager to endorse both of these Power Planers

Don't expect to plane wide boards perfectly. I use it outside as there is a huge outflow of chips. Just quiet and smooth and leaves a glassy finish. The carry case is sturdy and an extra blade is included. This would definitely be worth the price.

This planer cut 1/8 inch swaths with no problem. So other people wouldn't have too much trouble handling it. I have mostly Bosch tools and none of them have failed. I tightened the 6 blade holding bolts a tad. Makes a mess even with the bag on but whatever

This is why I gave this Makita planner 4 rather than 5 stars. I reset the clamping plate using the alignment jig. 30 minutes of planing is around 30 gallons of chips. It's closer to the street than the house! Was amazed at how fast and effective this little Makita planer is

You get what you pay for in these Makita tools. If you only used a crude hand plane you can use this. Yes, this quickly filled, but it was better than nothing. I wish the did include a collection bag, that's one big con. I can't imagine how long the sander would have taken.
